Robin Hewitt (father of Chris, loved chief training officer at Parkdale) will be delivering a presentation on The Weather
when asked about what the topic would involve, Robin remarked :
We are going to examine some concepts and understanding which will remove some guesswork and free-up the grey matter to work on some sailing applications such as the examples which will be given.”
Clearly, this will be a session not to be missed. It will commence mid afternoon … after racing.
A gold coin donation will get you in and cold drinks across the bar will help you relax after the stresses of racing.
We look forward to seeing you down there.
Robin started sailing in a mirror dinghy circa 1962 and built a 36-foot cruising yacht sailing offshore in 68-73 followed by construction of 50 ft ‘Yoko’ launched 1982. Sailed over 300 offshore races including 2 Melbourne-Osaka 2 handed and several south pacific events, 35 consecutive Melbourne-Hobart Westcoasters.
A Yachtmaster instructor and Victorian yachtmaster examiner for many years.
Learned most sailing the hard way as little advice was available and therefore a consequent interest in helping others. A keen interest in weather as limited funds meant sailing the ‘right way’ as distinct from spend to make it faster.
Current wind speed and direction updated every 10 mins
